Our Past Initiatives

Over the years, Hayat-e-Nau has provided a range of services including rehabilitation, special education, outreach Healthcare, food, shelter, livelihood support, and specialized appliances to disabled children and adults. These efforts aim to maximize their abilities and potential, enabling them to live as active citizens of the country. 

Hayat-e-Nau’s programs and projects directly impact Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the national and provincial policies and strategies of the Government of Pakistan.

Disability support Program

Contributes to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and promotes the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (UNCRPD)

Health Program

Contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing).

Livelihood Program

Contributes to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

Youth Development Program

Contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Emergency Response Program

Contributes to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and supports all SDGs in disaster situations.

Climate Change Program

Contributes to SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Women Empowerment Program

Contributes to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and promotes the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (UN-CEDAW), while also addressing all other SDGs as a cross-cutting theme.

Our Methodology

Empowering Communities Through Inclusive Action

Hayat-e-Nau operates its programs and projects according to the following methodology to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities, including people with disabilities:

Service Delivery

Focuses on providing quality health care, rehabilitation, livelihood support, and emergency response for children and adults with disabilities, as well as the general community.

Community Awareness and Social Mobilization

Aims to sensitize communities about the rights of people with disabilities through awareness sessions, seminars, workshops, interactive dialogue sessions and theatre performances.

Research and Surveys Program

Conducts baselines, surveys, and social research on topics concerning people with disabilities and the general community.

Capacity Building Program

Provides internship, training, knowledge exchange, exposure visits and other educational opportunities.

Advocacy, Networking, and Lobbying

Enhances coordination and relationship-building with other NGOs, service providers, and government bodies for improve service delivery.
